Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery Custom Playscape


This custom nature-based playscape for children ages 0-15 features a log climbing structure, an interactive water play feature and sand play area, a mud kitchen and “loose parts” play area, playhouse structures, a sensory path, tactile walls, musical instruments, a climbing wall, a cozy tipi structure, log balance beams and steppers, and custom artwork by a local artist. Plantings are non-toxic and child-friendly, and were chosen for their seasonal interest and value as play props. Goals of the playscape are to provide children a place for positive play experiences and choice, give them a place of beauty and delight, and offer a nurturing environment through nature connection.
